Watercolor Techniques
Tool Techniques:
1: Wet on wet- Paint more colors on top of wet paint to allow them to blend together or create a "soft edge".
2: Wet on dry- Paint a layer and let it dry. Paint another layer on top. (Also good for control)
4: Dry Brush- Use a dry brush for more control. (Dry your brush off on a paper towel)
5: Salt or Rice- While paint is still very wet, sprinkle on salt or rice. Brush off salt/rice after paint has dried.
6: Isopropyl Alcohol (Rubbing Alcohol)- While paint is still wet, use a q-tip to drip or dot isopropyl onto the paint.
7: Gradient- light to dark- Use water to thin the color, then slowly add more color to the mix
8: Gradient- color to color- Start with 1 color, slowly add some of another till you are only using the second color.
